RIVER WATER PUMPING SYSTEM
This project consisted of installing a completely new pump station, vertical turbine pumps, and large bore piping system at the McKenzie River to provide the new water supply for all mill operations.
SERVICES PROVIDED
- Installation of sheet pile system and excavation for underground cast-in-place concrete pumping station
- Installation of forming, rebar, pouring of pump station walls, and installation of river isolation valves; 800 cubic yards of concrete poured
- Installation of three new submersible vertical turbine sump pumps and discharge piping header
- Installation of 2000 lineal feet of 36” and 42” piping; Mix of painted carbon steel (above grade-400 lineal feet) and HDPE (underground-1600 lineal feet)
- Fabrication and erection of new MCC/Switchgear foundation and building
- Fabrication of composite pipe/bridge crossing over McKenzie slough
- Management and coordination of HDPE, excavation, crane, scaffolding, piling, electrical, and diving subcontractors
- Completion of all work under close scrutiny of several environmental agencies due to proximity of operations to the McKenzie River
- Commissioning and start-up support
